Nominations open for sailing industry awardPosted on
The nomination process for the 2017 Sailing Industry Distinguished Service Award opened July 12.
Established by Annapolis Boat Shows in 2014, the award is designed to recognize a member of the sailing industry for standards of service and commitment.
It honors a recipient who has distinguished himself or herself through continued and unselfish service to advancement of the sailing industry. Last year’s winner was Margaret Podlich, former president of BoatUS and a lifelong advocate for boaters.
“The Sailing Industry Distinguished Service Award and the Best in Show exhibitor awards are meant to encourage creativity and professionalism in our industry,” Annapolis Boat Shows president Paul Jacobs said in a statement. “Each year we look forward to recognizing excellence.”
The final selection for the award will be made by a panel of judges who represent the industry. The award will be announced at the Sailing Industry breakfast at the United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis on Oct. 6. Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 8.
