Uniesse Marine has a new ownerPosted on
Miami-based Uniesse Marine Group acquired the assets of Uniesse Marine S.P.A. of Italy.
The purchase was led by SMB Investor David Schwedel and will be operated by him and by longtime Uniesse U.S. representative Rafael Barca, who has been with the company since 1994. Barca will serve as president of Uniesse Marine Group LLC.
“Uniesse is known throughout the world as a pre-eminent semicustom luxury motoryacht brand,” Uniesse Marine Group executive director David Schwedel said in a statement. “We are excited to present a newly designed line of luxury motoryachts from 49 feet to 115 feet.”
Barca introduced the Uniesse line to the United States in 1994 and has delivered more than 200 boats during that time. He and Schwedel have more than 75 years of combined experience in the marine industry.
“I only know of perhaps one or two other brands that can compare to Uniesse in terms of craftsmanship and quality,” Barca said in a statement. “Uniesse will continue to be designed in America and manufactured in Italy under our direction.”
The company is redesigning the Uniesse line and hopes to have its first new models ready for the 2019 boat show season.
