Cobalt Boats LLC is suing Sea Ray Boats, alleging that the company infringed on Cobalt’s patent for a submersible swim step. The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, contends that Sea Ray’s “reckless” infringement of the patent has caused Cobalt to lose sales.
This year’s Düsseldorf boat show included 1,741 exhibitors from 57 countries, as some boatbuilders stepped up their presence in an effort to capitalize on the relatively strong economic region in a still-lagging European market.

BOSTON — The Progressive New England Boat Show, which ran from Feb. 14 through Sunday, had drastically reduced attendance because of frigid weather and several feet of snow that plagued the region, but many exhibitors said the people who did show up were buying boats.
There has been a lot of talk about the 2016 Miami International Boat Show, which is slated to move from the Miami Beach Convention Center, while the venue is undergoing renovations, to the Miami Marine Stadium Park.
