The International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference is the marine industry’s largest technical trade event, serving boatbuilders, marine industry dealers, aftermarket suppliers and buyers, designers, repairers, surveyors and boatyard/marine operators. It is held annually in the fall on a rotating basis in Louisville, Ky., and Tampa, Fla.


A reflowering of R&D

Innovation continues to be the driving force behind the annual International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference, and this year’s IBEX Innovation Awards drew a record number of entries and an eye-popping array of new product.

IBEX is a place where innovation abounds and there was more new product on display at this year’s show than at any in recent memory.

IBEX rethinks Louisville as show location

There is no disputing that the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference will be held in Tampa, Fla., in 2016 and 2018. Whether the industry showcase for new products and innovation returns to Louisville, Ky., is up in the air.

There were 4,700 attendees this year at IBEX in Louisville, Ky., compared with 6,900 at last year’s event in Tampa, Fla.

IBEX 2015: Attendance drops in return to Louisville

This may have been the last year for the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference in Louisville, Ky., as attendance this year was down 31.8 percent from the 2014 show in Tampa, Fla., and flat with attendance from the 2013 show in Louisville.
