What is a GUID?

Posted on

GUID, or Global Unique Identifier is the 32 character ID used for each one of the records, types, and sites found within Centralpoint. Sometimes your production representative may refer to this and simply is tech-speak for the ID’s used to identifiy individual records within a site or module.

This terminology is not specifically Oxcyon’s but rather a commonly used term in development and programming. We find it to be used very heavily in the VB/Microsoft community, whereas other technologies may refer to it as a SID.
