Native Mississippian returns to open portPosted on
Capt. Jack Miller opened TowBoatU.S. Pass Christian, located at Pass Christian Municipal Harbor in Mississippi.
A native of Long Beach, Miss., Miller returned to his home state after a 15-year absence to open the new TowBoatU.S. port. He has held a U.S. Coast Guard license since 1985.
TowBoatU.S. Christian Pass is equipped with a 25-foot Parker pilothouse response vessel. Onboard is a full complement of towing and salvage equipment including extra fuel, engine fluids, pumps and a battery “jump pack” to handle dead batteries.
Miller lives with his wife, Lorraine, aboard their 42-foot Katy Krogen trawler Mystic Knights of the Sea. They have previously owned powerboats and sailboats, and have extensive cruising experience in the Northern Gulf Coast as well as Florida, the Keys, Bahamas and Chesapeake Bay.
