This program will present the basics of fundamental electrical theory as well as circuit types and designs. DVOM/Multimeter selection and use will be covered at length. Knowing what the meter readings you get actually imply and what service procedures might be needed to eliminate problems will also be covered as a part of this class. ABYC electrical standards that cover things like wiring, over-current protection, battery installation and wire termination will be covered at length. Shore power system basics will also be covered as well as the standards that apply to them. The program will also discuss the basics of marine corrosion. The types of corrosion will be identified and how to measure for and mitigate corrosion related issues will be discussed.
