SodaBlast Systems unveiled a mobile unit that makes it convenient to provide eco-friendly boat hull cleaning services to marinas and boatyards interested in minimizing the impact of their operations on the environment. SodaBlasting uses a special formulation of baking soda to remove paint and marine growth from boat bottoms without harming the gelcoat, according to the company. The mobile units provide up to four hours of continuous blast time. A trailer-mounted system includes a heavy-duty air compressor. A skid-mounted unit will fit in the back of a pickup truck and can be used with a portable air compressor. Both systems feature a heavy-duty moisture separator to keep soda dry and the equipment running smoothly. The price range is from $29,500 to $35,500. The new storm surge anchor system from Taylor Made Products, according to the company, safely attaches three anchors together while allowing up to three lines back to the moored boat, offering greater stability during extreme weather conditions and rough seas. The system features monohull and multihull models for more precise anchorage. It is hot dip galvanized for maximum corrosion protection and is available with standard eyebolt shackles or with safety shackles that use nuts and cotter pins. Pricing for the Storm Surge Anchor System is $259.99 for the monohull and $299.99 for the multihull. Contact Taylor Made Systems at (518) 773-9400 or salesinfo@taylor madeproducts.com.
Innovative Lighting announced the development of its new 257 series Slimline 2 LED sidemarker/clearance light. Using a 2 LED configuration, the 257 series is shock proof and impact resistant. With its high level of durability and sealed polycarbonate lens, this sidemarker can withstand the elements, according to the company. Drawing only 35 milliamps, Slimline LEDs save money by reducing the load on an electrical system. The lights are available in red or amber LED models with a red, amber or clear lens. Each light measures 4.5” x 1.6” x 8” and can be mounted vertically, horizontally or at a 45-degree angle. The suggested retail price for the lights is $14.99. Performance Metals introduced a new line of anodes designed to protect Yamaha engines. The Aluminum Yamaha Anode Line provides a higher protection voltage than zinc and lasts 30 to 50 percent longer, the company says. The environmentally-friendly trim tab, block, transom and side-mounted anodes are made from aluminum and indium alloy. They are lighter than zinc; work in fresh, brackish and saltwater; and reactivate immediately on re-immersion. A patented wear indicator is embedded in every anode. When the anode is worn down to half its original size, a red spot appears so the boater knows it’s time to change the anode. The Navalloy Aluminum Yamaha Anode Kits have a suggested retail price of $33-$36. Contact Performance Metals at (877) 612-5213 or www.performancemetals.com.
