Fiberglass Bottomkote NT

Posted on Written by Chris Landry

50_pipeline_03With its dual-resin blend, Interlux’s new Fiberglass Bottomkote NT is a durable and fast-drying antifouling paint that offers the benefits of both hard and ablative coatings, according to the company.

It has the durability of a traditional hard paint, but with a slow-polishing mechanism that continuously smoothes and renews the active surface, avoiding buildup of paint layers, according to Interlux. The fast-dry formula allows a boat to be painted and launched in the same day. It’s suitable for underwater surfaces of fiberglass, wood and properly primed metal (except aluminum). It can be used on power- and sailboats in fresh, brackish or salt water. The paint can be applied over most other antifouling paints, provided the old coating is tightly adhered and is in good condition. A single-season paint, Bottomkote NT is available in red, green, blue and black in quart, gallon and 3-gallon sizes. Estimated price for boatyards/dealers is about $80 a gallon.
