Griffin Clip

Posted on Written by Chris Landry

64_pipeline_02Boat owners like products that make boating easier and, therefore, more enjoyable. A South Florida fisherman has come up with a simple device to make pulling an anchor from the bottom a much simpler task.

Mark Griffin’s product, the Griffin Clip, utilizes the boat’s power to pop the anchor. The user slides the clip, which is attached to an anchor buoy via a carabiner, onto the anchor line. With the anchor line attached to the bow or spring cleat, the operator powers forward. The clip allows the buoy to slide down the rope and above the anchor, where it is yanked from the bottom and pulled to the surface. The company’s Web site has a few demonstration videos. The vertical angle of the pull minimizes damage to the bottom, says Griffin. The clip is available in two sizes: 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch. The 3/8-inch Sportsman clip is $49.99. A kit with Griffin Clip, carabiner and buoy is $92.99. A 1/2-inch Commercial clip is $99.99, and the kit is $148.99. Contact: Griffin Clip, (954) 923-6033.
