Impact SeriesPosted on Written by Chris Landry
How many times have you dropped your BlackBerry while working with clients at boat shows? A Fort Collins, Colo., company has introduced two protective solutions for the BlackBerry Tour smart phone from Research In Motion.
The Impact Series from OtterBox consists of a silicone-skin case, while the Defender Series is a three-layer case (clear polycarbonate window, high-impact polycarbonate shell and a silicone skin). “The Impact is for people looking to keep their phone looking new and free from scratches, and to protect against bumps and minor contact,” says OtterBox public relations executive Kristen Golliher. “The Defender is definitely more rugged, protecting against drops, dust, dirt and scratches.” However, it is not waterproof, she says. The Impact Series measures 4.51 by 2.66 by 0.75 inches and weighs 0.6 ounces. It retails for $19.95. The Defender Series, which retails for $49.95, measures 4.74 by 2.87 by 0.88 inches and weighs 1.9 ounces. Contact: OtterBox, (888) 695-8820. www.otterbox.com
