Sea/Fresh Marine ElegancePosted on Written by Chris Landry
What do plankton, krill and other marine micro-organisms have in common? They cause a boat’s head to stink to high heaven if it has a seawater-flushing system. Flushing with fresh water solves the problem, but what a waste.
Raritan’s new Sea/Fresh Marine Elegance head can alternate between fresh- and raw-water flushing. The idea is to use seawater to flush regularly and fresh water to remove the malodorous organisms before you leave the boat for extended periods, according to the company. The change from fresh water to seawater is done using a lever mounted in the head. A heavy-duty motor coated with epoxy paint powers the head, which is available in 12- and 24-volt units. It has a footprint of 8-1/2 by 9-3/4 inches. Overall, it measures 18-3/8 inches long, 14 inches wide and 14 inches high. MSRP is $1,360. Contact: Raritan, (856) 825-4900. www.raritaneng.com
