KVH Industries is calling its new TracVision HD7 a breakthrough in maritime satellite TV design.
Trac-Vision HD7, which utilizes a 26-inch-diameter, 61-pound antenna, brings high-definition programming from DirecTV to boats by simultaneously tracking three satellites, according to the company. The company’s TriAD compact antenna design with its “tri-rod dielectric feed” executes the three-way hookup. The tracking system stays locked on even in the roughest seas, and it’s possible to connect up to eight DirecTV HD receivers or four HD DVRs with a single wire, according to the company. KVH’s new IP-enabled ACU – with its Ethernet connection, built-in Wi-Fi interface, and USB port – makes system setup easy, according to the company. With the KVH iPhone App, you can check signal strength, switch to secondary satellites, download antenna software updates, and send information directly to KVH technical support from your phone. TracVision HD7 is $12,995. Contact: KVH, (401) 847-3327. www.kvh.com
