MBIA members get 7.5 percent insurance dividend

Sixty Michigan Boating Industries Association members have received insurance dividends. 
The members participated in the MBIA-endorsed Great Midwest Insurance Co. program, and were qualified to receive $72,290 in dividend checks. The dividends are a result of members’ efforts to reduce risks within their businesses to protect employees and customers, and help reduce claims.

 "We are very pleased to announce a 7.5 percent dividend for 2007, based on the earned premium for the members’ package and workers’ compensation policies," said Van W. Snider, Jr., MBIA president, in a statement. “The program offers competitive rates and can further lower overall insurance costs with the dividends.”
