Woman named ABYC-certified technician

Christy GrayDeltaville Boatyard mechanic Christy Gray has become the fourth woman named an American Boat and Yacht Council certified master technician.
There are about 100 certified ABYC master technicians in the United States, according to the Virginia-based boatyard. Gray also is a graduate of The Landing School in Maine, having completed its 10-month marine systems program.

“When individuals like Christy and others at Deltaville Boatyard complete the process and become ABYC certified, they can feel confident in their ability to apply the highest standards in the industry as a tool for initial installation or for troubleshooting marine-related problems,” said Skip Burdon, ABYC president, in a statement.

ABYC offers seven certification exams, and marine professionals must successfully pass at least three of the rugged certification exams to earn the title of certified master technician.
