Freedom Yachts' broker earns certification

George Cochran of Freedom Yachts has earned the Certified Professional Yacht Broker designation through the Annapolis, Md.-based National Yacht Broker Certification Program.

The CPYB is the highest professional credential for yacht brokers. To earn this designation, a candidate must have a minimum of three years experience as a full-time yacht broker, pledge to uphold the yacht broker code of ethics and pass a three-hour examination. To maintain the certification, brokers must earn continuing education credits in activities associated with the industry.

The CPYB designation is held by 486 brokers in North America. Partnering organizations of the CPYB program include the Yacht Brokers Association of America, Florida Yacht Brokers Association, Northwest Yacht Brokers Association, California Yacht Brokers Association, and Ontario Yacht Brokers Association.
