PWC braking system patent for sale

PWC Industries Inc., a part of Watercraft Innovations, is offering its personal watercraft braking system patent for sale.

Fort Myers, Fla.-based PWC Industries developed the system in 2004. U.S. patent No. 7,007,621 was granted in 2006 and also filed in Canada.

The company holds rights for a hand-controlled actuator assembly requiring the use of at least one brake plate alternating between a non-braking condition above the lower edge of the transom and a braking condition extending beyond the lower edge.

"This innovative technology provides users with a competitive advantage by allowing them to offer customers a safer PWC," said PWC Industries chairman Allen Becker. "It helps an operator avoid serious collisions that can cause personal harm and costly watercraft damage.”

The purchaser will have exclusive rights to prevent unauthorized manufacture, sale or use of a PWC braking system as described in the patent.
