Bellingham completes yacht club makeover

The Silver Gate Yacht Club in San Diego recently completed a $3 million renovation project, headed by marina builder Bellingham Marine and Anchor Environmental, a leader in shoreline restoration.

The project, completed in a little less than a year, included maintenance dredging and a complete rebuild of the club’s marina. The marina features barrier-free floating concrete docks, a new concrete pile anchoring system and upgraded utilities. The 147 double-berth slips can accommodate boats from 25 to 60 feet.

“Bellingham Marine delivered the greatest value for longevity and an innovative phasing plan, which was the key to this successful project,” club commodore David Lancaster said in a statement.

The club’s landside facilities are also undergoing renovation. The new clubhouse is in the design phase and is expected to be completed in early 2010.
