Posted on 20 November 2008
The World Fishing Network is helping to increase boating and fishing participation by launching an Anglers’ Legacy contest this week.
The program, initiated by the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation
, encourages anglers to introduce new people to the sport. The WFN contest asks Anglers' Legacy Ambassadors to share their stories about introducing newcomers to fishing for a chance to win a personalized television spot on WFN and WFN-HD.
"We feel it's the responsibility of the nation's 44 million anglers and all of us in the industry to support initiatives that get more people on the water fishing," said WFN president Mark Rubinstein, in a statement. "We look forward to using our multimedia platform to support Anglers' Legacy and encourage all anglers to introduce at least one newcomer to fishing."
Contestants can submit essays or videos to www.wfn.tv/pledge
. Entries must be received by Jan. 7.Click here for the complete release.
