President-elect Obama unveils 'all star' team

President-elect Barack Obama announced his economic team Monday and reiterated the need to create a recovery plan for Wall Street, as well as address foreclosures, the struggling auto industry, and job creation.

“It is my hope that the new Congress will begin work on an aggressive economic recovery plan when they convene in early January so that our administration can hit the ground running,” Obama said.

Obama also announced the selection of his economic leadership:

• Timothy Geithner, secretary of the Treasury
• Lawrence Summers, director of the National Economic Council
• Christina Romer, chair of the Council of Economic Advisors
• Melody Barnes, director of the Domestic Policy Council
