Christian Fischer, son of professional angler Ozzie Fischer from Team Century, is following in his father’s footsteps with his recent award from the Southern Kingfish Association as National Junior Angler of the Year.
The father/son duo, fishing as team Wolcott Marine, competed in the SKA’s Division 11, which features three tournaments in southwest Florida. The 11-year-old Fischer landed a 37.93-pound king during the series’ first tournament, a 26.6-pounder during the second, and a 56.27-pounder in the final tournament.
Ozzie Fischer has fished tournaments in the Fort Myers/Naples area for more than 15 years. He averages more than 400 charters annually and has more than 50 top-five tourney finishes since 2001.
“Century Boat Company
takes much pride in our ability to manufacture a dual-threat lineup of saltwater boats — models that are great fishing platforms for serious anglers but also comfortable for the entire family,” says Dean Burnett, vice president and general manager of Century. “Today’s youth have so many avenues to pursue their own interests; it’s great to see Ozzie and Christian spending time together, doing something they both love.”Click here for the compete release.
