East Coast speed limits start next week

New speed regulations aimed at reducing ship strikes with endangered North Atlantic right whales go into effect Dec. 9.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued guidance regarding the implementation of the speed restrictions, which apply to vessels 65 feet and larger in certain areas along the East Coast.
