Coast Guard extends comment period on passenger-vessel proposal

The Coast Guard is extending the period in which to submit comments on its proposed changes to regulations governing the stability of passenger vessels and the maximum number of passengers that may safely be permitted on board a vessel.

The deadline is now Feb. 6, 2009.

This will allow interested parties time to consider the Pontoon Vessel Passenger Crowding Stability Criteria Study, which was cited in the proposal.
