Mercury Web site to update future plans

Mercury Marine created two Internet micro-sites to keep the public and its employees informed of the company's future plans.

The engine manufacturer will use the "Charting Our Course" sites to post updates, media coverage, questions and answers and comments from Mercury executives regarding the possible consolidation of operations in Fond du Lac, Wis., and Stillwater, Okla.

Employees can access "Charting Our Course" through BC One, an employee site piloted by Brunswick Corp., Mercury's parent company. Employees must use their BC One passwords to gain access.

The public can reach Charting Our Course by going to MercuryMarine.com, clicking on the News and Events tab on the homepage menu, and then clicking on Charting our Course. Employees can also utilize this site.

The micro-sites offer four sections: Media, From the President, Negotiations and General. The Q-and-A segment can be found under General.

Questions can be e-mailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and Mercury officials will try to address them in an upcoming "Charting Our Course" posting.

When I was there they promised to keep us updated. They promised our jobs were safe, they promised that everyone who was left was safe from future layoffs. NONE of this was true then and I dont believe it now
