Mercury could see effects of Harley cuts

Cutbacks at Harley-Davidson Motor Company could affect Mercury Marine.

According to a local report, because Mercury Marine does casting work for the Milwaukee-based motorcycle builder, and as many as 80 to 100 Wisconsin jobs could be affected by the changes.

However, Mercury's decision to consolidate manufacturing operations from Stillwater, Okla., to Fond du Lac, Wis., is proving to be a positive development to that region's work force.
