Spot, BoatU.S. offer new towing services

A new service from Spot LLC and BoatU.S. Towing Services could help boaters needing a tow.

The new SPOT Assist Maritime service combines satellite messaging communications and GPS technology with BoatU.S. Towing Services. SPOT Assist Maritime gives recreational boaters the ability to summon a towboat for non-emergency assistance by pressing the "Help" button on their hand-held SPOT Satellite GPS messenger or SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker.

The BoatU.S. towing fleet offers North American boaters a network of U.S., Canadian and Bahamian towing ports with more than 290 locations and more than 600 TowBoatU.S. and Vessel Assist towing assistance vessels.

Services include on-the-water towing, soft ungrounding, fuel delivery and battery jump-starts.
