IMI to hold economic conference

The International Marina Institute, a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries, added a new one-day conference on the economy to its marina training program.

"The New Now: How to Thrive in Today's Economy," will take place July 27 in New England. A specific site has not yet been determined.

"We are focusing our programming on helping marina businesses adapt to changes in the economy and to thrive in today's financial conditions," said Jim Frye, president and chair of AMI, in a statement. "It is important to us that we provide our members with timely information to help them succeed in every business environment."

Invited speakers include an economist, a banker/lender, a manufacturer, a retailer and a small-business development professional.
