BRP adds to Evinrude lineup

BRP recently launched its new Evinrude E-TEC 15-hp H.O. engine, featuring the Touch-Troll system, a 15-amp alternator that comes with no scheduled dealer maintenance for three years or 300 hours.

"We're delivering on our commitment to expand our Evinrude E-TEC lineup," said Yves Leduc, vice president-general manager for BRP's North American division, in a statement.

"The new 15-hp H.O. model gives consumers the best of both worlds - the largest displacement, which delivers the maximum get-home speed and the direct-injection fuel system that offers the optimum ability for slow trolling," he added.

The new engine will be highlighted at select boat shows, including those in Houston, Seattle, Minneapolis, Toronto and Miami.

It will be available as a limited-release production through authorized North American dealers beginning in May.

I worked for OMC for 25 yrs & it was very common  to advertise product before it was available, I never understood it either. It's one of things that just doesn't make sense to a common sense person.

I was introduced to teh E-tec 15 hp at the Toronto Boat Show earllier in January.  A couple of days later I was browsing through the Evinrude web site and particularly the display and list of "all" the different Evinrude E-tec engines.  For some reason the 15 hp HO was not on the web even though it had been at the Toronto Show, and doubtless many others.

I can't help but wonder why BRP would ship demos around the continent for shows but fail to list their latest model on their web site?
