Island Pilot hybrid to be featured on TV show

0305_hybridIsland Pilot's DSe Hybrid 12m will be featured at 9 p.m. (EST) Sunday on the Discovery Channel's "The World's Most Expensive Rides" program. The program will only air on the Discovery Channel's "HD Theater" channel.

Built in Zhuhai City, China, the DSe was introduced in fall 2008. According to its manufacturer, it was America's first hybrid pleasure cruising vessel combining diesel, solar, and electric technologies.

0305_hybrid2At a base price of $600,000, the DSe is an expensive, but quiet ride, according to Island Pilot. Other vehicles featured on Sunday's program include a $20 million titanium car and other luxury modes of transportation.
