Florida marina announces open-house schedule

Two of Florida's most respected professional fishing guides and the National Weather Service's senior meteorologist will offer their advice on making the most of a fishing expedition March 27 during Cannons Marina's annual spring open house and fishing clinic at the marina on Longboat Key, Fla.

The open house is free and open to the public.

Local expert fishing guide, Capt. Scott Moore, and the National Weather Service's senior meteorologist Rick Davis will discuss "Weather and the Catch of the Day" from noon to 1:30 p.m. Capt. Ray Markham will offer his in-depth knowledge of fishing local waters using synthetic bait during his "Fakin' It ... Fishing With Artificial Lures" clinic from 2 to 3 p.m.

In addition, Cannons' service writer Angela Pluff will join Michael Currey from Yamaha Marine to answer service and maintenance questions from 11 to 11:45 a.m., and Cannons' marina manager Benny Parrish, will present an in-depth discussion from 3-3:30 p.m. on the pros and cons of using ethanol fuel in your boat engine.
