Donzi Marine reports higher sales

Donzi Marine officials say the company is experiencing strong retail demand, with nearly 100 boats sold since last summer.

"From July 2009 to April 2010, over 95 Donzi boats have been sold and delivered to retail customers," said John Walker, senior vice president and chief operations officer for Donzi's parent company, American Marine Holdings. "Certainly the economy has reshaped the playing field, but there seems to be a widespread misconception that people just aren't buying.

"We feel that the retail-delivery of nearly 100 units with an average size of around 38 feet, in a span of just 10 months, is incredibly strong for a niche product in any economy," he added.

Donzi has leveraged this demand to make inroads into key high-performance boat markets and has announced its newest dealer signing: MRD Marine, of Lindenhurst, N.Y.

In business since 1964, Donzi Marine builds more than 25 models of high-performance fiberglass pleasure boats ranging from 16 to 43 feet. Donzi is a division of American Marine Holdings, which also operates Pro Line Boats.

I got into this business because I was told that it was a fun business and you could ride around in boats.  After 25 years and other than going broke several times, the 'fun' is so great I can't stand it.

Wow, a whole 95 boats, its time to start over again, I can load up with boats, get screwed by the manufacturers, sell at a loss and end up being a slave to the banks.
