Caterpillar engine sales drop in June

Caterpillar's marine engine sales were down 29 percent in June, compared to the same month last year, according to a report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

This is the third consecutive month marine engine sales have seen a decline. Sales were down 27 percent in May and 35 percent in April, compared to the same months in 2009.

Caterpillar reported an increase in sales for June in its electric power and industrial engine sales and a total sales increase of 2 percent from June 2009.
