Florida considers restrictions on bonefish

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold two public workshops on possible rule changes that would make bonefish a catch-and-release-only fishery.

The workshop discussions also will include the consideration of bonefish possession exceptions for record purposes and tournaments. It will consider the creation of a registration program for tournaments where bonefish could temporarily be possessed and transported for weigh-in purposes.

The workshops will be held Dec. 8 at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum, 300 Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach, and Dec. 9 at the City of Key Colony Beach City Hall Building Auditorium, Mile Marker 53.5, 600 W. Ocean Drive Key, Colony Beach. The sessions will run from 6-8 p.m. both days.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. You know if they actually got out and fished and hunted, then they might know what the state of Florida really needed.

This just sounds like they are making sure there are plenty of Bonefish for their toutnament fishing budies.
