Evinrude unveils fall sales promotion

BRP announced the Evinrude E-TEC Fall into Action Sales Event for its Evinrude outboard engine brand.

Qualified purchasers of any new and unused model-year 2012 or earlier Evinrude E-TEC engine can choose between 6.9 percent financing and a two-year B.E.S.T extended warranty during the promotion.

“With cooler temperatures and less traffic on our waterways, fall is a great time of year to enjoy the pleasures of boating and fishing,” Christopher Berg, director of marketing and strategic planning for Evinrude, said in a statement. “The Evinrude E-TEC Fall into Action Sales Event gives consumers a great incentive to stop by any authorized Evinrude dealer to learn about the Evinrude E-TEC engine that best fits their needs.”

The promotion runs through Dec. 16.

Here goes another manufacturer getting into the dealers pocket. Every warranty "given away" is another extended service contract they can't sell at a profit. The other option is even worse, let's see the manufacturer explain to the potential buyer why he does not qualify for the advertised rate. This kind of turn off is what sends some of these first time buyers to the RV industry. You don't see those guys give away dealer profit or try to dictate things like interest rates.
Here is one vote for having manufacturers build the stuff, and letting the dealers sell it at a profit they control. Financing should be a profit center and left to people more qualified as well.
