Palm Beach show named finalist for tourism award

The Palm Beach International Boat Show, owned by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, is being recognized for its role in Palm Beach County tourism as a finalist for the 2011 Providencia Award.

The public relations committee of the Palm Beach County Convention & Visitors Bureau oversees the annual award, which is given to a local person or organization that has made an extraordinary and positive impact on local tourism.

For the first time in 22 years, the community will select the winner through a Palm Beach Post online poll.

Online voting runs now through Sept. 30.
