Florida builder, designer join on patrol boat

Boksa Marine Design teamed with Hann Powerboats of Sarasota, Fla., to develop a 25-meter fast patrol craft for an international client.

This patrol craft is also intended to escort supply vessels to offshore locations and stay on station for as long as 10 days with a crew of 15. The normal operating speed will be about 12 knots while on escort, but the patrol craft is capable of sprint speeds of 35 knots or more.

Boksa Marine Design was founded by naval architect/marine engineer Nicholas Boksa as a design firm working on luxury yacht design and commercial marine design programs. Today the Tampa, Fla.-based firm is composed of two divisions: Boksa Marine Design Yachts and Boksa Marine Design Commercial.
