Deadline nears for IMI hotel discount

The deadline to reserve a discounted room for the International Marina Institute's fall events is fast approaching.

The current rate of $99 a night is available at the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek in Fort Lauderdale until Saturday for those attending “Increasing Marina Profits in the New Economy: From Surviving to Thriving,” Oct. 23–25 and the Southeast Florida Marina Study Tour Oct. 26–27.

IMI’s annual conference this year will focus on using marina property to its highest potential, creating new profit ideas and increasing revenue. On a biennial basis, IMI’s conference is dedicated to updates in drystack technology while focusing on current and timely topics of interest during the years in between.

The Southeast Florida Marina Study Tour is a mobile classroom that takes participants on tours of leading local marinas over the course of two days. A facilitated discussion and analysis is held at the end of both days.

“Each year, IMI negotiates a discounted room rate for these events to keep the costs of attending our trainings and field trips most economical,” Kayce Florio, IMI’s training coordinator, said in a statement. “This year’s rate includes breakfast and complimentary parking, so the room rate is especially favorable.”
