NMEA president resigns position

David Hayden resigned as president and executive director of the National Marine Electronics Association last week at the conclusion of the group's International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo in Fort Myers, Fla.

“I wish to thank the board for the opportunity to serve, and I believe that the timing is right for me to move on. We just completed the fifth successful annual conference under my leadership, and I feel that the board has the proper makeup and professionalism in place to continue what we’ve begun,” Hayden said in a statement to the board. “I would like to also thank my staff at the national office for the exceptional work they have done for me and the association over the years.”

Bruce Angus, formerly of Johnson Outdoors Inc., will replace Hayden on an interim basis. In preparation to become interim executive director, Angus resigned from the NMEA’s board.
