Turning Point Propellers obtains design patent

Turning Point Propellers' 500 Series Hub System received U.S. patent No. 7,717,678, the company announced.

“This patent shows how unique the hub's design is to the Turning Point line,” Turning Point vice president of sales and marketing Ron Bailey said in a statement. “Our hub system is one-of-a-kind and incredibly advanced.”

Constructed from high-tech, glass-reinforced polymer, the 500 Series Hub System employs a single-piece design. The advanced system is flexible, absorbing vibration and eliminating gear shock, engine damage and potential material stress fractures that can lead to failure.

The 500 Series can adapt to almost any sterndrive or outboard application, from 40 to more than 300 hp, the company said.
