Dealer conference reports 2011 attendance

The Marine Dealer Conference & Expo saw a more than 1 percent increase in dealer attendance this year, organizers announced, although total attendance was down about 2.5 percent for the Nov. 6-9 event.

The event, produced by the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas and Boating Industry magazine, was attended by 471 dealers, compared with 465 dealers who took part in 2010.

This year’s dealer conference, which took place at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Fla., featured 22 seminars — its most ever — and brought together 947 total attendees.

“The number of dealers that attended this event is evidence of the importance dealers place on improving themselves and their businesses,” MRAA president Matt Gruhn said in a statement. “Our members have told us that the MDCE is their most valued member benefit and they’ve reinforced that by showing up to the MDCE in growing numbers each of the past four years.”
