West Marine schedules annual product-review day

West Marine announced its seventh New Product Review Day will be held on Jan. 20 at the company's support center in Watsonville, Calif.

The event allows inventors and other prospective vendors to pitch new products to West Marine category managers for consideration and the chance to have the goods sold in West Marine retail stores and through its other channels.

“West Marine is continually on the lookout for the latest in high-quality boating, fishing, sailing equipment and gear,” executive vice president of merchandising Ron Japinga said in a statement. “Our New Product Review Day presents a unique opportunity for vendors and inventors to meet personally with West Marine. We always look forward to this event and are eager to add new products to our assortments.”

I am a inventor who has developed a unique product that can be used primarily by boaters with Trailers. I would think that West Marine might be very interested in partnering with me to distribute this product. What is the process for meeting with your purchasing/product development team for consideration ? I am on the East Coast (Maryland) so if there is a local office (anywhere within 250 miles of Maryland) or in Florida (as I will be down there later this month), that would be helpful. I would also consider being put on next year's list of vendors
