Discover Boating reports online gains in 2011

Discover Boating had a successful 2011, with visits to its website and Facebook page up significantly, in addition to other notable statistics.

In 2011 the site went “mobile-friendly,” and smart-phone users are now automatically redirected to a site optimized for smart phones. In fiscal 2011, site visits from a mobile device to Discover Boating increased 323 percent, compared with FY 2010.

Discover Boating’s Facebook page reached 219,000 fans, and the Facebook campaign generated close to 400 million impressions and 227,000 clicks.

Looking at public relations efforts, Discover Boating delivered 109 million earned media impressions, 27 percent over the year’s goal. Top placements included The New York Times; USA Today; CBS Money Watch; CNBC.com; MSN.com; MensFitness.com; Chicago Tribune; and the Miami Herald, the NMMA said.
