Sail America names new president

adams0202The Sail America board of directors elected Josh Adams, publisher of Sail magazine, to serve as president of the sailing industry's trade association.

Adams has served on the Sail America board since 2007 and has been active on committees throughout his tenure. Most recently, he was vice president of the association.

“I'm honored to serve as Sail America president,” Adams said in a statement. “The Sail America board of directors is an impressive group of market leaders across all segments of the sailing industry, and I'm pleased to be on their team. We have an ambitious schedule of initiatives planned this year for Sail America, all designed to promote the health and growth of sailing.”

Adams joined Sail magazine in 1996 as a member of the editorial team. As publisher since 2006, he is the leader and brand manager of Sail and is responsible for steering its multiplatform media strategy.

An accomplished sailor, Adams was a three-time collegiate All-American at Tufts University, a member of the U.S. Sailing Team in 1995 and 1996 and a member of the 1999 America's Cup challenger Young America.

Congrats Josh, great tradition of strong leadership at Sail America and they are fortunate to have you as captain of the team. The article didn't mention your stellar Tabor sailing career but I see TA is represented in other comments. Go luck with the new challenge!

Congratulations upon your recent election as President of Sail America. tis a long way since 'Navaho', NYYC Cruise, Tabor and ILYC Junior Sailing but your career-path is a creditto you, your parents and family.
