West Marine seeks marine charities for event

West Marine announced its search for Connecticut marine-based non-profits to be the beneficiaries of the "Cruising for a Cause" charity celebration set for April 12.

The festivities will be held at the newest Old Saybrook flagship store. In keeping with the company’s mission of protecting our waters and supporting local boating non-profits across the country, West Marine is eager to work with Connecticut-area charities that serve the local boating, fishing and sailing community.

All proceeds from ticket sales to the “Cruising for a Cause” event go to the local charities.

“We look forward to hearing from marine-based non-profits who would like to participate in ‘Cruising for a Cause.’ The Old Saybrook team looks forward to raising funds for marine-based charities in Connecticut,” store manager Chris Primm said in a statement.
