Sailing conference adds title sponsor

Sail America announced that B&G will be the title sponsor for the 2012 Sailing Industry Conference.

Sail America executive director Jonathan Banks said B&G’s “long pedigree in providing cutting-edge electronics for the sailboat market makes them a perfect partner” for the conference.

The 2012 conference will include a range of topics designed to provide new information and stimulate fresh thinking in the sailing industry. B&G will host the B&G Academy, which provides information on current technology and application trends for sailing electronics, as well as key insights and tools to help boatbuilders, resellers and others within the sailing industry enhance their knowledge of electronics and provide better solutions for their customers.

Navico Americas chief operating officer Louis Chemi said in a statement that sponsoring the conference is an honor.

“In the past few years B&G has driven huge advancements in electronics technology for the sailing industry and developed various product lines, such as Triton and Zeus, that appeal to boaters within all categories of sailing,” Chemi said. “We are confident that B&G Academy is the perfect forum to provide industry professionals with insight into the most cutting-edge and sophisticated technology for all sailors.”

The conference takes place June 25-27 at the Newport Harbor Hotel in Newport, R.I.
