New owner for TowBoatUS location in Michigan

TowBoatUS in Port Huron, Mich., has a new owner.

Capt. Chad Noetzel, the towing port’s hired captain for the last five years, purchased the business from Capt. Brian Williams, who remains the owner of TowBoatUS Detroit downriver, according TowBoatUS.

The Coast Guard-licensed Noeztel is a Port Huron native and the former owner of Great Lakes Outfitters, a local fishing tackle store.

Noetzel said in a statement that the region’s waters get a lot of transient boats that are passing through the Great Lakes. Dead batteries and engine breakdowns form the majority of requests for on-the-water assistance.
