Sea Tow Central Texas adds territory

Sea Tow Central Texas expanded its service area to include Canyon Lake in Comal County.

The Sea Tow operation, owned by Capt. Mike Kern, also provides marine assistance to boaters on Texas' Highland Lakes Chain, including Austin, Lyndon B. Johnson and Travis lakes.

A Coast Guard-licensed captain, Kern took over Sea Tow Central Texas in May 2010.

Sea Tow Central Texas currently has four yellow Sea Tow boats, including a 26-footer located on Lake Travis, a 24-footer on Lake Austin, and a trailerable 23-footer that is available to go wherever it's needed. To provide round-the-clock assistance in the new part of his territory, Kern will station a 22-foot Sea Tow boat at Canyon Lake Marina.
