Maritime Program Group adds brokerage division

Maritime Program Group announced the creation of a new brokerage division with a new team of brokerage professionals.

The company is expanding its wholesale marine business to include placements for passenger vessels, fishing vessels, tugs and barges, builders risk, cargo, docks, shipyards and other commercial marine interests, according to the company.

Brokerage director Ron Haynes and vice president of brokerage Lina Jayme are leading the effort, and San Francisco-based senior marine underwriter Bob Langenhan will underwrite marine liabilities.

The group also has expanded its western facilities with an office in Gladstone, Ore.

“The addition of these three talented underwriting professionals reinforces Maritime Program Group’s commitment to growth of our programs in Western territories while drastically expanding our capabilities into the wholesale brokerage market nationally,” Maritime Program Group president Chris Pesce said in a statement.
