Boatbuilding conference set for Maine in December

Maine Built Boats Inc. is organizing and hosting a boatbuilding industry conference in December that organizers say will offer executives, managers and marketers ideas for expanding their business outside Maine and the nation.

The Maine Built Boats Global Outreach Conference, scheduled for Dec. 6 at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, will offer a combination of exhibition and seminars to support Maine boatbuilders.

The conference will offer seminars in marine systems technology, composite construction, digital marketing and management. Organizers said each seminar and its speakers were selected based on industry feedback and demand.

There will be a keynote speech by Maine business leader Eliot Cutler. Complete descriptions are available on the conference website.

"The members of the Maine Built Boats organization have told us what they need to support the growth of their businesses, and this conference is our response to those requests," Maine Built Boats president Jon Johansen said in a statement. "This conference will provide the boatbuilding industry with guidance and information about strengthening and expanding their companies."

More than 30 vendors will be exhibiting new technologies and tools. Organizers are accepting applications for exhibition space from boatbuilding industry vendors. Attendee registration will be available in October. Organizers said space is very limited and they encouraged industry professionals to register early.
