Mercury Marine plans joystick system debut at IBEX

Mercury Marine’s joystick piloting for outboards will be displayed within the company’s 2013 Precision Rigging lineup Oct. 2-4 at the International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference in Louisville, Ky., providing one of Mercury’s largest "rigging product" launches in several years.

“We’re touching nearly every Mercury product on the dash with new designs, new innovative user interfaces and enhanced features to bring new benefits to end users and boatbuilders,” Mercury Precision Rigging general manager Ben Duke said in a statement. “Every member of the team brought great ideas to the table, from our industrial design team working with Navico to the engineering team that took every out-of-the-box idea and brought it to life.”

Mercury’s new-product lineup at IBEX will include:

• Mercury joystick piloting for outboards

• The next generation of Mercury VesselView

• New console-mounted electronic remote controls (single- and dual-handle)

• Mercury marine ship’s log iPhone app
